Marriage Mathematics

Life is like a labyrinth. The more you try to find the way out, more you get lost. Sometimes you get confused to find the way out and at times, you think the path you are trying to follow is right and you end up coming at wrong end. Post marriage session of my life is becoming little complex for me and I am struggling to find the correct way out.

As a bachelor the mathematical equation of my life was simple and it had only few variables. Moreover, the variables like Mom and dad were predictable and use to vary under certain range. The range use to vary from health to education. Only complex variable was my own mood swings. Being with myself for so many years, the mood swings were also predictable and somehow manageable. With all these predictable variables the equation of my life was linear.

Marriage has changed the mathematical equation of my life and has added many new variables. Most important is your better half and then comes her family. The first impression suggests simply that variables have just doubled but in reality instead of double (2x) it is square (x2). How?? Well, because the two families are integrated, it has certain reaction. I mean two linear equation are multiplied not added. It is an AND rule instead of OR. If one equation was (aX + bY+ cZ = Myself) where a, b, c are constant and X, Y, Z are linear predictable variable. X = Dad, Y = Mom, Z= Others. Similarly, (iL+jM+kN = Betterhalf). Hence, the marriage equation of
Post Marriage equation = (aX + bY+ cZ) (iL+jM+kN). Now for argument shake, if we take the best case i.e. both the parents are comfortable with each other and are similar i.e. we assume it as our dad and mom and relatives i.e. X = L, Y = M, Z = N. Let us assume that even the constant a = b = c = i = j = k = 1.
Hence, Myself & Better Half = (X+Y+ Z) (X+Y+ Z) = X2+Y2+Z2+2(XY+XZ+YZ).
=> (X+X+X) (X+X+X) => (3x) (3x)

Look, even the most simplified form post marriage mathematical equation is at minimum 9 times complex than bachelor life. If on top of this I add one more variable my kid, it becomes 16 times more complex. So vinit, don’t loose your heart under the circumstances you both are doing well. Cheer up and just keep trying and moving. The role is new and as time progresses you’ll learn to handle so many complex variable. Also please note that the whole equation is function of time. The more you spend time together, the more you will learn to handle it properly. Infact it is the measure of your post marriage session. To conclude, since so many variables have been added in life, it is natural for you both to feel the heat. Please don’t succumb to the pressure and keep trying your best. Remerber words of Wisdom by your friend who once said " More important than managing difference is appreciating difference because it helps to create everlasting balance in the system"

64-square Fun Processing

Some say long journey starts with single step. The chess tournament organized by our team was a step forward in bringing some fun in our hectic working culture. When our team planned to organize the event we were not sure about the response from IT Wizards? The whooping response and interest from zensarians made us believe that we at Zensar mix Fun & work together. We not only use our intellect for coding our module but save ample talent to show our dexterity on 64 square chess board. The good thing about chess is that it has no age limits. May be because of this reason, the participant were from all level of our vertical organisation. In fact maximum participant were from level 3 and 4.

The battle was fought among 80 odd participants but this time for a change the battle field was not panipat but 64 squares of chess board. The protagonists were same King & Queen but the weapons used were not Guns & Swords but intellect. In the whole tourney we had our own Garry kasporov, Vishy, Kramnik, karpov, Bobby fisher & Judit.
Initially we had internal matches in the specific location i.e. Main building, Kharadi and Orion. From here we selected eight people in total and then had round robin matches between them to select the semifinalist. We selected the winner from them by having knock out matches between them.

In course of action, we saw some nail biting finishes, marathon runs and also some easy matches played between master and amateur. In mist of foray, one man who took all the challenges & pressure, stood against all odd like Rock of gibaltar and remained unconquered was eventual winner. Let us congratulate Sanjay Desai (Tournament Winner) for his superb performance. Also lets not take away due credit to Runner up i.e. Durgesh Singhal for showing consistent performance throughout the tournament, losing only to the winner. Sanjay proved that his hair is not white because of sunshine but have matured due to abundance of experienceJ. His neurons are still active and better than all the younger lads. we also included MT batch, who were slightly late to join the main course of tournament. The MT batch winner was Swarup. Unfortunately we were not able to include them in main stream of the tournament. I am sure there'll be next time.

Let me share some interesting observation with you all. If we look at the chess board and try to draw parallel lines with our industry we will realize its similarity with our corporate structure. The pawns on the chess board represent the management trainee. They are quite a lot out there and they are often sacrificed to save more valuable pieces. Their movements are restricted and controlled. Some of them do manage to reach the ultimate position and become queen i.e. CEO.The knight on the board represent the consultants. There purpose in the organization is to execute the strategy. The bishop is like technical leader of Zensar.They play very important role in shaping strategy and its execution. The elephant is like Program manager. They have a strong influence in the way organization functions and take critical decision. The queen is like CEO. She has sweeping power and her demise is doom for the organization, if not death. The tallest on the board
i.e. king can be known as managing director of the corporate world. He is more of a symbolic head but its surrender or death means the end of the game. Giving ample food of thought to think...
